Travel poster design of Newcastle’s Mining Institute with the inscription ‘The North of England Institute of Mining and Mechanical Engineers. Founded 1852.’

The institute possesses one of the largest collections of mining information in the world.

The library, named after its founder Nicholas Wood contains more than twenty thousand volumes of technical literature, in the fields of mining, geology, seismology and other related topics.

These days, alongside it’s traditional use, the venue is often used for weddings and concerts.
